Hi everyone:

...This is a handy tool to have. Would be nice to be able to know what artist/band plays which genre of music so we're not taking shots in the dark in the hopes of finding an artist/band that plays the genre we want.

Anyone here know what I mean?

If there IS such a listing, could someone please point me to the URL? Maybe I missed it?

Cheers :)

Sarcastic answer: it is categorized by genre. Everything in the Live Music Archive is in the "audio" genre, and in the "live music" subgenre.

More serious answer: this has been discussed more times than I can count. Please, please, search the forums for earlier discussions before re-opening old, tired, done-to-death debates!

After the move to the new system in a couple months, there will apparently be an optional keywording/subject field for band sections, that can be filled in at curator discretion with genre-like info, etc (geographic info is another request). We might want to table this and bring it back up for discussion after we see what the new thing is like first.
